Margaret Bell AM President/CEO Chain Reaction Foundation has been appointed the first Patron of Volunteering Australia, the country's national body on volunteering.

Volunteering Australia's Board President Paul Lynch said: "We wanted to identify someone who would epitomise the value of volunteering in Australlia"

In response Margaret expressed great appreciation to the Board for the honour bestowed on her and said: "Volunteering today is not just an option, it is an imperative if we are to hope to build social cohesion and inclusion across the globe in these troubled times. Volunteering Australia plays a vital role in realistion of this challenge."

Welcome to Chain Reaction

Against a background of global and national tensions it is feasible to believe life is beyond our control as we consider climate, the exchange rate, the European Debt crisis, the mad ambition of politicians, and the differences between haves and have-nots especially in youth unemployment.

We think of divides we live with in our own country, between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians, the increasing socio-economic variances and the different cultural and belief systems, division caused by age, sex, people's abilities and disabilities and the urban and country divide.

At Chain Reaction we commit ourselves to working together towards a strong and engaged civil society that teaches self-respect rather than self promotion, social cohesion rather than every man for himself, and we aim to assist in the building of social inclusion in local communities rather than encouraging a philosophy of personal power and greed. We undertake this task at both the national and local levels.

Chain Reaction Foundation is registered as a Public Benevolent Institution and has Deductable Gift Recipient Status. Please give generously, all donations over $2.00 are tax deductable.
