Points of Light Annual Conference - Washington DC

by | June 19, 2013

The IAVE Conference Organising Team were in Washington DC for the Points of Light Annual Conference, the biggest conference on volunteering and service in America. Around 3,000 delegates from all over the USA attended the meeting and for the first time a Global Track was introducted. Around 120 delegates came from different points of the globe.

Chain Reaction President and Patron of Volunteering Australia, Margaret Bell, addressed the Conference on "Social Cohesion A Way Forward For Volunteering And Service" and later "Corporate Volunteering and The Asia Pacific Drive" speaking on different ways in which corporations in Asia Pacific are viewing the act of volunteering as part of their social and economic responsibility packages.

Much interest was taken in the upcoming 23rd IAVE World Volunteer Conference to be held in Australia in September 2014.
