Expertise: Broadcaster, communications, social commentator.


Ian Allen, OAM
Trustee of the Pratt Foundation, The Pratt Family Foundation, Visy Cares and the Pratt Group Scholarship Fund

Expertise: board governance, philanthropy and fundraising. Ian holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Master of Administration and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. He is on the board of Peninsular Health, the Community Advisory Committee of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and many community organisations.


Dr John Basson
Chief Psychiatrist, Centre for Mental Health University of NSW

Expertise: John specializes in caring for mentally disordered offenders and the long-term management of people with serious mental disorders. He came to Australia in 2004 following an outstanding career as Medical Director at Broadmoor Hospital, Berkshire, England.

Bruce Bonyhady, AM
President Philanthropy Australia Council
Expertise: Bruce is keenly involved in philanthropy and providing services to families, carers and people with disabilities. He is currently Chairman of Yooralla and Chairman of  the advisory panel to Solve! at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. Bruce is also a member of the Felton Bequests Committee. 

 

Benjamin Chow

Expertise: Business management, urban development and community service. Key interests include planning for community spaces, multicultural inclusion especially in large Australian icons eg Scouts and Guides Australia, Surf Life Saving and the like. Board Director Chain Reaction Foundation.

Expertise: James has recently taken the position as Chief Executive of Aboriginal Affairs NSW. Prior to this position James was Executive of NSW Aboriginal Housing Office and Chief Executive of Victorian Aboriginal Legal Services.

Dr Rhonda Galbally, AO
Chair of Victorian Disability Advisory Council

Expertise: Starting, heading up and sustaining new organisations and businesses from scratch to practical success, grant making - philanthropic and government, fundraising, organisational development - change management, leadership and capacity building.

Pru Goward
NSW Minister for Family and Community Services and Women
Expertise: Pru is currently the NSW Minister for Family and Community Services and Women and comes from a background of wide experience in Women’s affairs including her period of service as Executive Director of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Status of Women. She also served a period as Sex Discrimination Commissioner for HREOC.

Hon. Michael Kirby, AC, CMG

Expertise: National and International Law, Michael is a retired judge of the High Court of Australia and remains very active in community service. In 2009 he was made a distinguished visiting fellow at both ANU and UNSW.

 

Joan Kirner, AM

Former Premier of Victoria

Expertise: Community Service. Joan has been tireless in her service to the community and is currently the Chair of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for Victorian Communities.

Hugh Mackay

Psychologist, Social Researcher and writer

Expertise: Hugh has been at the forefront of social analysis in Australia for many years. He gives generously of his time in a variety of ways in community service and has been a supporter of Chain Reaction Foundation since its inception in 2002.

 

Prof Abd-Elmasih Malak, AM
Executive Director Workforce and Organisational Development - Sydney West Area Health Service

Expertise: Australian health, welfare and multicultural services especially in Western Sydney and through services to the Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia as immediate past Chairman. Board Director Chain Reaction Foundation.

Winsome Matthews
Department of Human Service, Community Services

Expertise: Winsome is a Yorta Yorta Goomaroi woman experienced in policy planning and protocol development in Aboriginal Services at national level. She is a specialist in holistic approach to sustaining and maintaining Australian Aboriginal culture. Working to improve program services and community development which facilitate self-determination and self-management underpinned by equitable social justice practises.

Andrew McCallum, AM

CEO – Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies

Expertise: Andrew comes from a teaching background and has served many years in community development including a period as President ACOSS. In addition to holding many board appointments Andrew is currently serving as CEO of ACWA.

Expertise: Paul is the partner in charge of KPMG’s Investment Management, Funds and Superannuation group and is a member of KPMG’s Global Investment Management and Funds Steering Committee. Paul commits much of his time to pro bono work, including services to NAPCAN, Chain Reaction Foundation and Holy Family Church Mt Druitt.
