All staff engaged in the LGiS program are required to complete a training program
Completing Learning Ground in School Professional Learning will contribute 18 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Student/child Mental health addressing Standard Descriptor(s) 1.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW. |
Training goals for professional learningParticipants will:
All staff engaged in the program are required to complete an intensive training program. The training will include a total of 18 hours professional learning. This includes two days of consecutive training at Learning Ground as well as additional online modules. Ongoing support will be provided face-to-face, zoom, or telephone meetings as required with a Chain Reaction appointed consultant who is fully experienced in the program. The program delivery will commence in Term 1 and all materials needed to conduct each session will be supplied together with comprehensive training manuals for facilitators and mentors. |
Training descriptionThe LGiS program is aimed at working with teachers to know and understand how to enhance student social and emotional wellbeing. It focuses on training teachers to identify and provide access to resources for students to seek support and counselling to build protective behaviours.
